Momonga è una distro molto simpatica e ben curata, che arriva direttamente dal Giappone. In effetti subito ad un primo sguardo si vede il "tocco" manga giapponese.

Già dal boot, fino ad arrivare al desktop abbiamo questo strano personaggio mascotte di Momonga.

Basata sulla ottima Fedora 11, vediamo nei dettagli la distribuzione cosa ci offre.

Scaricabile direttamente da qui, abbiamo la possibilità di installarla sia con desktop envoirement Gnome o Kde, i più recenti ovviamente.

Quello che andremo a scaricare è un DVD di 3,5 GB , ancora più leggero delle versioni precedenti, comprensivo di tutto, non avremo problemi di Driver, codec e programmi già installati e pronti all'uso.Una distro da tenere sott'occhio anche se lo sviluppo deve essere ancora lungo.

La Kde è più curata e bella da vedere. Sono supportate tutte le lingue prima del boot.

New features: the installation DVD includes both desktop and server packages; major packages include Linux kernel 2.6.35.4, glibc 2.12, X.Org Server 1.8.2, GCC 4.4.4, GNOME 2.30.2, KDE 4.5.0, Firefox 3.6.9; new kernel features include KSM (Kernel Samepage Merging), memory compaction, Btrfs and NILFS2 file system support, native ZFS file system support; faster boot-up (15 seconds on Intel Atom with SSD disk); new widescreen backgrounds; new default Japanese input method (iBus + Mozc replaces SCIM); new default Japanese font (Meguri); support for connecting iPod Nano, iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad to the system and playing the content in Rhythmbox, Amarok, Shotwell and Digikam.
